ApogeeX: Cent Account Launch: Understanding Balance Units, Contract Size and Actual Risk
01-10-2026 11:00
On October 1, 2026, ApogeeX launched its Cent account, adding an account option for clients who wish to trade with real funds on a smaller scale. Understanding the account requires distinguishing the units used to display funds from actual contract size, rather than assessing trading capacity from the balance figure alone.
At USD 1 to 100 cents, USD 100 is displayed as 10,000 cents, but its actual value remains USD 100. A larger displayed number does not increase the value of the funds or the capacity to bear risk. The underlying asset amount per lot and minimum order size still require reference to the specific account and contract specifications.
ASIC's CFD investor materials explain that leverage allows a smaller investment to create greater market exposure. Potential profit and loss therefore cannot be understood solely in terms of initial margin. Calculation example: An account has USD 100 and is assumed to hold a linear position with a notional value of USD 5,000. A 1% adverse move in the underlying produces a loss of about USD 50 before costs, or half the account funds. This example does not represent actual ApogeeX account parameters. ASIC Moneysmart CFD investor materials.
ApogeeX will explain denomination, costs, leverage and forced-liquidation conditions through account materials and routine enquiries. Small-scale live trading can help clients become familiar with operations and the psychological effects of real gains and losses. Results at a small scale do not establish that they can be replicated at a larger one. Before choosing an account, compare the specific trading conditions with your experience and funding arrangements.
Risk Warning: CFDs and other leveraged trading carry a high level of risk. Leverage may magnify gains and losses and may cause you to lose all the funds you invest.
